Terribly damaged in the 1999 earthquake, Yalova has been rebuilt and is newly prosperous. Residents were cared for by many believers in those years and there is now a church and Christian campground but the numbers are still small.
An enthusiastic group of young people hit the streets of Yalova, eager to distribute New Testaments and tracts explaining the gospel and offering the Bible Correspondence Course. There were some complaints and so they had some run ins with the authorities but in general, they were encouraged by the amount of literature distributed. It was particularly encouraging to meet a believing Iranian family who had just arrived from Iran. The family had come to Christ through watching a Christian television programme - the team had been on exactly the same programme themselves half a world away! Let's praise God for the ways He is working and drawing people to Himself!
