Ordu is a lovely harbour on the Black Sea. It is less known than some other provinces but is rich in hazelnuts and other agricultural offerings. Similar fruitfulness has not been seen spiritually - Ordu needs seeds to be sown.
We had taken a shared taxi up to a town called Ulubey and were walking down the hill when we saw two ladies outside their house. The ladies offered us tea and nuts growing in their back yard. One lady had just had a Koran lesson, but we were able to share about the Bible. We sang a song from our songbook for them and one of the ladies read through the Turkish translations of the rest of the songs in our book. She was really interested and just kept on reading the words to the songs. We were able to leave literature with them.
