Nevşehir is a well known touristic area but the local culture continues as ordinary, small town life. Despite its deep Christian roots, there are only a few believers. Come see historic churches and call people to be the living church.

Ancient ruins get living water

Göreme Open Air Museum

The team in Nevşehir visited the Göreme open-air museum and had amazing opportunities! They were first very discreet but finally asked a guard at one of the ancient churches if they could leave a few New Testaments on a chair. Unbelievably he said, "of course!" As they talked about history, they realised he was an intelligent man who had thought about different religions and had an open mind. They read Acts 2:9 together and he let them pray for him in the name of Jesus. Please pray for Refik as he reads his Incil. The Incils were swept by a crowd of very young pupils from Eskisehir who very politely asked the church guard if they could have them! But thankfully one team member was outside to to tell them the books were for their parents and teachers only! They prayed for the kids and parents and for those Incils to get into the right hands. The team met a great number of interested people. One Turkish family from Germany gladly accepted an Incil saying they really wanted one. Other contacts as well happily accepted one so that in the end, the team gave out 40 İncils!
