Kastamonu

Kastamonu is too north of the İstanbul-Ankara road to see many visitors or much development. It is best known as the home of many apartment caretakers in İstanbul and Ankara. Come and make Jesus famous here.

In the shadow of the mosque

Two of the team members met Naim, sitting on a bench near the mosque. He is a retired baker and felt that the best thing in life was not hurting other people and doing good. The team shared the parable of the unmerciful servant with him and one of them pointed out to Naim that as a baker, he knew that bread represents life. They read to him from the İncil about Jesus being the bread of life. Naim shared that his wife was in hospital so the team prayed for her healing and for God's blessing. Like many other older men, Naim was just waiting near the mosque for the call to prayer. Please pray that instead he would hear the call of Jesus. At the shops outside the mosque, two other team members noticed young men drinking a strange green drink. They asked what it was and were invited to have the kiwi drink with them. The conversation turned to the Gospel and the team members were able to share at length. When the young men paid for the drinks, the team were able to give them an İncil as a gift in exchange. They then left for prayers at the mosque. May instead they bow to Jesus!
