Originally part of the province of Konya, Karaman does not share Konya's fundamentalism. Its Christian history was so pronounced that it has a "Valley of 1001 Churches." All are in ruins. Come proclaim the Living Word.
The team that travelled to Karaman want us all to know it's not a place for tourists! They felt the whole town knew who they were by the second day and they wondered how they would be able to reach out. But God brought some English speaking, open-minded young people to befriend them! They met over and over again and shared their own testimonies, a clear explanation of the Gospel and gifted them each with New Testaments. One couple had approached the team as they were playing worship songs outside a mosque, while the rest of the team prayed. One of the girls received the words 'bike' and 'aching right ankle.' She asked the couple if this meant anything to them and they said no. Because everyone was having trouble communicating, the guy called his friend who knew English to come help out. He arrived - getting off his bike and limping because his right ankle was aching! They later prayed for him and are waiting to hear if he was healed. The team felt this group of young people were a key to spiritual awakening in the city - please pray for them!
