Hatay

Hatay's capital, Antakya, is where believers were first called Christians. Minority background people in this province have their own churches. Nominal ones need revival and there is still much work to do amongst the majority.

Sharing God's love

While in Antakya, the team had the idea of giving the "You are Special" brochures with a carnation. They bought 50 flowers and went into different stores staffed by women, giving them a flower and a pamphlet. They explained that Jesus loved them and they wanted to show them that. All the women seemed very touched. At some that offered tea, the team members offered to pray for them in Jesus' name. All accepted and were very thankful. Another day, they met an Arab family in the park who invited them home. They were able to share with them and leave with them with a New Testament and a "God is love" booklet. In Iskenderun, the women passed out the brochure and instead of a flower, homemade cards they had made. People accepted them and three girls were interested to have henna done while a team member read them a story from the Bible The girls loved the story. Pray for these contacts and that they would request the book offered on the back of the brochure! May each know how special they are in God's eyes.
