Bartın

Bartın is one of the newest provinces but is historically ancient and hosts a Byzantine castle. There are no known believers in the province, though some believers in other provinces are originally from here. Seed needs to be sown.

Prayer instead of pain

The team walking around the city of Bartın saw many old houses. The team leader went up to a man sitting in front of his house and asked how old it is. From there, a conversation began. He was surprised how friendly the team was. Soon, Cemal, the man's son came out to join the conversation and they invited the team to drink coffee in their back garden. John felt led to ask if he could pray for Cemal and asked if he had knee pain but Cemal said he had low back and hip pain. John prayed for him a few times but nothing happened immediately. However because of praying the topic of faith was opened and the team was able to share the good news about Jesus coming, which meant that it was possible to have peace with God and a restored relationship through Jesus. They accepted a New Testament as a gift. Before leaving they asked about Cemal's pain and he said it felt better. Continue to pray for this family that Jesus would reveal Himself as both Saviour and Healer.
